Existing JustJoJo Distro guidance
This article describes established distribution and reporting workflows. Features, delivery times and payment schedules can vary by client and service. Contact the team to confirm the current process before relying on a deadline or account feature.
Payout Schedule
When you'll receive your statement, how the DSP reporting lag works, and when you can expect to be paid.
When will you receive your statement?
Under the published schedule, statements are normally prepared monthly. Confirm the current statement date with the team during onboarding.
How long does it take to get paid?
It varies. Most DSPs have a lag of 60 to 90 days between when streams/downloads happen and when they are paid out.
Here's an example of the timeline from stream to payout:
- Imagine a stream/download happens in September. Whether it happened at the start, middle or end of the month doesn't matter — DSPs report per month.
- Many DSPs issue reports around mid-late October, but we won't actually receive payment for this report until mid-late November.
- We start our royalty run around the 22nd of the month. If we haven't received payment by that date, we won't include that DSP in that run.
- So it is fairly typical that you will receive your statement and payment in our December 25 royalty run for most DSPs.
- Apple & YouTube are exceptions and tend to be only 2 months post facto.
Important steps in the process
- Most DSPs send the revenue report for September streams/downloads around mid-October.
- The bigger DSPs (Spotify, Apple, YouTube, Deezer and Amazon) shouldn't experience delays, but all other DSPs are susceptible to delays.
- Some DSPs report only quarterly, and many DSPs can be delayed in their reporting or payment.
- There are times when DSPs discover missed transactions months or years later. The DSP will then issue an adjustment report (and payment) for these transactions.
- When JustJoJo Distro receives historical reports and funds, we include those in your statement — reflected in the Transaction Date column of the detailed transactions.
- After we receive the DSP's revenue report in mid-October, we still need to receive their payment before we can generate your statement.
Additional notes
- Your month X statement will include streams/downloads from many different prior months. This is displayed on your statement's detailed (raw data) page along with the relevant DSP.
- The summary tab shows which DSPs were included in the report. The sales raw data tab lets you filter by reporting month and DSP.
- We can only include in your statement what has been paid out in the month previous to when we send out your JustJoJo Distro Statement.
Our payout policy
The published workflow aims to include eligible funds in the next available statement after they are received from DSPs or Merlin. Reporting delays, account checks and payment-method requirements can affect the actual payout date.
